Carp Calendar Cuties Contest - Event Review

Thursday night happened to be the last contest of this year for the Carp Calendar Cuties and we decided that we needed to be there even if it meant taking the Eau Claire Bars blog all the way to Menomonie, Wisconsin.

The contest was held at the Silver Dollar Saloon & Brick Co. a.k.a. "The Buck" and we got there early to make sure that we had a nice seat for the show. We would find out that seating really didn't matter and standing room would be limited as the crowd engulfed the bar. For those of you females out there wanting to know how you can get involved with the contest next year here is a link to the Official Rules.

This is just a teaser post while I head out to Loopy's tonight for the Carp and Miller Lite's Jeep Finals. If you are out and about or looking for something to do tonight then meet us at Loopy's! More to come later!!

Ok then... now we're back from our night out at Loopy's. I wasn't lucky enough to come out of there with the Jeep, but I was able to get quite a bit of information and quite a few pictures. I'll throw that review up later and for now I'll finish up with the Carp Calendar Cuties Contest.

You've already seen the information provided by our contestants, now let's talk about the judges. Tonight's judges include Chris from Fall Creek Portrait Design, Mark Jonely, and Jack McMahon owner of McMahon Industries, a new fabrication company in the area he says to Call Today! at 715-309-3198. With my position right next to the judges I was able to get some great pictures as well as some inside information on how the contest was going. It was easy to see by the judges reaction that even after the first round Erin was coming out on top.

With the contestants and judges covered we move on to the crowd... Wow there were a lot of people packed into this side room. I'm quite certain that the main bar was full as well and we heard rumor of 250+ people showing up for the festivities. When I spoke of the sauna experience in The Buck's review I wasn't kidding. I had to bring a glass of ice water up to the stage with me during the contest just to keep myself cool. The turnout for this event was pretty incredible to say the least!

Here are some more pictures of Erin, winner and 12th Carp Calendar Cutie for the 2008 Calendar:

After the contest we'll milled around a bit and spoke with the crowd to see what their reactions were. There weren't any unhappy people in the house except maybe a couple of the contestants that didn't win. We even spoke with Lonne from Klassic Cab which is a local taxi service that will deliver vehicles to motels and local residences. He quoted fast, friendly service and left his number. So if you are out and about in Menomonie and need a ride call 715-231-TAXI (8294).

Tonight's contest, like all of the others, was sponsored by 99.9 The Carp and Bud Light. DJs Al Shannon, Sleaze, and Cooper took care of the logistics portion of the contest and did a great job. They definitely know how to work the crowd. They kept the contest going at a fairly quick pace which was nice considering the heat. All things considered, I would have to say that the contest was definitely worth coming out for. Lots of great looking girls and cold drinks who could ask for anything more?

Sausage Factor and Attractiveness readings are off the charts in a good way. With 6 contestants, 3 Carp DJs, and 3 Judges, the Sausage Factor comes in at an even 1:1 ratio. The Attractiveness Rating comes in at a 10 out of 10 solely because of the nature of the contest. I know we weren't going to rate that high, but given what you have seen of this night I bet you understand how it is!

Beer Rating: 5/5
Sausage Factor: 1.00

Attractiveness Rating: 10/10

Note: The results of this event are definitely skewed since guys can't enter the contest and we only rated the contest and the contestants. This was our first review of an event who knows what is next on the docket for Eau Claire Bars - the Blog as far as events go? Maybe we'll need to head on out to the Northwoods Rock Rally...
