Adrian Klenz & The Sextet - House of Rock

Last week we were able to experience an invasion down on Water Street. No, there weren't little green martians coming out of silver discs tromping all over the bar district. Instead we witnessed an invasion of music, great music, music not often heard in an Eau Claire bar. Last Thursday we participated in Jazz Night at the House of Rock. The talented musicians of The Sextet gave us an experience in music that has not often been represented in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. The Sextet consists this evening of Evan Benidt on Saxophone, Keith "A Town" K. on Trumpet, Brandon C. on Keys, Jeremy Boettcher on Bass, and Sean Carey on Drums, and of course Adrian Klenz at Vocals.

Enough with the chatter let's get to the music. Here we have a song familiar to so many of us - Frank Sinatra's "Angel Eyes".

Let's not forget the instrumental talent featured this evening, here is a nice set of music from the band members as well as some footage where we were able to capture a great bass solo from Jeremy Boettcher.

If you liked this music and Jazz in general you will be happy to hear that The House of Rock will be continuing this venue and you can see The Sextet perform again on December 6th and 20th starting at 9pm both nights. All footage and content found here on the blog is, as always, courtesy of Eau Claire Bars - the Blog. We hope you enjoy the footage!

Court 'N House Karaoke Night

A few weeks back our little crew made it out to the Court 'N House down on . Thursday nights are "Karaoke Night" and we were able to witness one of the most exciting karaoke experiences ever haha... This was by far the most active karaoke night we've been to. The crowd was actually interested and were caught cheering for the singers up on the stage - some of the best feedback we've seen to date. The DJ for the evening is Nick Arnold from Shawtown Productions, you can find out more karaoke information at Shawtown.com.

The Court 'N House is a smaller bar, yet still has a kitchen to serve food to its patrons. We were able to pull up a table and a booth very close to the karaoke stage and witnessed many great performances. If you want to order something from the kitchen you'll be able to choose from 14 different appetizers, 4 baskets, 9 burgers, and 3 sandwiches. There are 3 different salads for those of you looking for a lighter food experience. The food is great and they have many specials throughout the week that won't hit your wallet too hard. One such special is the $7.50 pitcher & pizza special on Sundays.

When we arrived it was around 9:30pm and the Sausage Factor weighed in at a 1.84 with 19 girls and 35 guys and the Attractiveness Rating was judged to be around 6/10.

I chose to drink some Long Island Ice Teas this evening and was happy to find out that they are not made from a mix. They are pretty big with lots of alcohol so I'd suggest limiting yourself and be sure to have a sober driver! Somehow I received a discount on my first couple and was happy to indulge in the savings. The Court 'N House also makes up a pretty good Bloody Mary if that's a drink that interests you from time to time.

Later in the evening around midnight we took our 2nd set of readings and found the Sausage Factor to tame down a bit to a 1.67 and the Attractiveness Rating rose to a 7/10.

Getting back to the music I need to make sure that I post this video first. This young lady was the most active karaoke participant of the evening and should receive props for her "stage presence". Without further ado I give you "Bohemian Rhapsody" - Court 'N House style!

And on to another great clip - this time we have Dirk Damage performing "Rebel Yell". We hope to see more karaoke action soon from the Dirk Damage Project. Awesome performance man!

We don't want to forget some Iron Maiden karaoke action from resident rock-star Tommy.

Here are a couple more notable performances.

And lets not forget to include some music from the DJ himself Nick Arnold.

The Sausage Factor may have been a little on the high side and the Attractiveness Rating average, but the Fun Factor was huge and this karaoke experience was definitely a 5/5 thanks to the great crowd and fantastic singers. Great times were had by everyone present for this evening of great karaoke, drinks, and food.

Beer Rating: 5/5
Sausage Factor: 1.76
Attractiveness Rating: 7/10
